It appears that 140 characters is not enough. The social network Twitter has now decided that with private Direct Messages permit up to 10 thousand characters.

Private Messages Direct Messages (DM), which users send Twitter among themselves, will be longer. Thursday's developers Twitter announced on its blog. The company is planning to offer an extension of DM in July, but has not yet been published that day. Representative social networks promises that in the coming weeks can know precisely when the change occurs.
